The Director of Operations is a key management role within in TPC. You will be responsible for management of the daily operations including staffing and program implementation. The successful candidate must be engaging, dependable and motivated to be a contributing part of a rapidly growing small business. You must be energetic and enjoy working as a team with our training and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will be an innovative self starter with education and/or experience in baseball/softball, customer relations, sales/marketing and business development.

Director of Operations

  • Oversee and ensure that daily activities/services run smoothly
  • Schedule and manage training staff performance through implementation of key performance indicators
  • Improve the business processes for each department through analysis and collaboration
  • Get involved in long-term business planning at the managerial and executive level
  • Collaborate with department management to develop financial plans
  • Analyze the performance of support functions for departments such as human resources and make recommendations for improvement
  • Work with project managers to develop new and special programs to improve revenue generation
  • Educate training and front desk staff
  • Serve as a baseball and softball skills trainer

The Bay Area’s top baseball and softball training facility, TPC Baseball, The Pitching Center Inc., seeks baseball & softball trainers. Trainers will work with directly with students in private and group training settings. Trainers work independently and together with our existing professional staff. The successful candidate must be engaging, dependable and motivated to be a contributing part of a rapidly growing small business. You must be energetic and enjoy working as a team. The ideal candidate will be an innovative self starter with experience in baseball and or softball as a player and/or coach/instructor. Part-Time/Full-Time: 10 – 40 hrs/week

Part-Time/Full-Time: 20 – 40 hrs/week

Pay: $15/hr – $45+/hr.  Strong bonus opportunities available.

TPC Baseball & Softball offers highly competitive internships in sports business management.

Our paid and voluntary summer internship programs are designed for rising juniors, seniors or recent graduates.

Experience in sports, sports marketing, or sports business are a plus but is not required for internships in the fields of: Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Exercise Science, Business Management, and Early Childhood Development.
TPC will be offering these internship opportunities from approximately May 15, 2016 until August 15, 2016.

Work Environment: TPC is a state of the art indoor Baseball, Softball and Athlete Training Center. We have 10,000 square feet dedicated to producing the highest level athletes in the Bay Area. Our facility is comprised of a 7,000 sq ft main floor that is divisible into up 6 individual training tunnels, a full weight room, cardio area, physical therapy office and video analysis classroom.  Our facility is also equiped with Iron Mike, HomePlate and HitTrax systems.

Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance, backup, and support to the Executive Director, General Manager, TPC Performance Academy Director, or Accounting Manager depending on the internship desired.
• Research, analyze and articulate orally and in writing facts, figures and information
• General administrative work and errands
• Various projects and duties as assigned.
• Assist with event and program promotions and execution.
• Ability to handle pressures of fast paced work environment and work well under pressure and within deadlines
• Will be required to learn our facility management software program – Sports-IT (Dash)

Requirements:
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Strong research and analytical skills.

• Be enthusiastic about the opportunity to work in the sports industry.

• Outstanding organizational, planning and time management skills.

• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.

• Self-starter with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
